Submission
Manuscripts and illustrations should be submitted to the editorial office of the Yokohama Mathematical Journal. Submission by email, with the manuscript attached as a PDF file, is preferred. Two hard copies of the manuscript are also accepted. Papers must be original and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts must be written in English.
Layout
Manuscripts should be prepared in a font size of at least 12 points, double-spaced throughout (including the references), with wide margins.
Abstract
Each manuscript must include an abstract of no more than 200 words, clearly separated from the main text. The abstract will be printed immediately after the title. Formulas should be used as sparingly as possible in the abstract.
Footnotes
Footnotes should not be used except on the title page. Other information that would otherwise appear in footnotes should be incorporated into the main text.
Title Page Footnotes
A footnote on the first page should include the following information:
2020 Mathematics Subject Classification: …
Key words and phrases: …
Acknowledgments of support, grants, and contracts (if any)
For the 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification, please consult the MSC2020 database to select the classification codes appropriate to your paper.
Authors’ Addresses
The permanent address of each author should appear after the references.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in their research or manuscript preparation, including translation and language editing. Include a “Declaration of AI Use” at initial submission, and review and update it with every revision and in the final manuscript. Place it in the acknowledgments or a separate section before the references. State each tool’s name, model or version where available, purpose and scope of use, affected parts of the paper, and verification method. No statement is required if no AI was used.
AI contributions to mathematical results, proofs, algorithms, or computations must also be explained in the relevant sections, with enough detail to assess the argument and, where applicable, reproduce the computations. Editors may request supporting information.
AI tools must not be listed as authors. Authors must critically review and verify all AI-assisted content before submission and remain fully responsible for the paper, including its proofs, computations, references, originality, and compliance with rights and permissions.
Proofs
Authors will receive the first proofs for any necessary corrections. The corrected proofs should be returned to the editorial office within two weeks of receipt.
Agreement for Online Publication
Accepted papers will be made available online after publication in print. Authors will be deemed to have agreed to online publication once their papers have been published in print.
